MEET OUR CHAUFFEUR OF THE MONTH

Paul Peterson

I was born near Green Bay, WI. My parents and relatives were dairy farmers, so a lot of my childhood was spent helping and playing on the farm. As a boy, I worked multiple paper routes, and when old enough, my first job was restaurant work at $1.16/hr. My parents moved the family to Minneapolis in the early 60’s, which is where I attended high school.

I completed my BS in Engineering from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo (1982). My first job out of college brought me to San Francisco with General Electric as a Sales Engineer. After GE, other technical sales and management positions were held with industrial divisions at Siemens and Textron.

It was during the Financial Crisis that I started working for Black Tie. Come this spring, it will have been 10 years. I thought it would be a short stay, but the timing, age and flexibility of the job worked well for me.

As a Chauffeur and Bus Driver for Black Tie, I take pride in transporting people safely. My favorite ride work is with older-mature clients celebrating special occasions. There’s always something to learn and be inspired with by their wisdom.

Outside of work, I stay active with aviation. I’m actively pursuing advanced commercial and instrument ratings. You’ll never see me without a book, always chasing a better self.
